Information for participants Please find here some useful information on how to get to the workshop.



Time and Venue The workshop will begin Monday, September 24, around 1pm, and end Friday, September 28, around 1pm.
It will take place at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, on the Campus Vaihingen.


How to get there For arrival information from Stuttgart airport or Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof (main railway station), please see here.
Frankfurt airport is a little more than an hour distance by train from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof (for train timetables and reservations check the website of Deutsche Bahn). For further information please contact the organizers.


Registration If you plan to take part in this workshop please register by writing an email to grad2012 at mathematik dot uni minus stuttgart dot de. There will be contributed talks of approx. 25 minutes length. Please indicate if you are interested in contributing a talk until August 28, 2012. If so, please send us a tentative title and abstract. There is a plan of going for dinner on Wednesday evening. Please include in your email whether you would be interested in joining. Deadline for registration is September 2, 2012.
Limited financial support is expected to be available, in particular for PhD students and postdocs. It will usually cover the cost of accommodation, while travel expenses should be paid by the participants' home institution whenever possible. Please indicate in your registration email if you would like to apply for financial support. Deadline for applications for financial support is July 25, 2012. Note that the deadline for applications for financial support has expired.

Accommodation For the invited speakers, rooms will be booked by the organizers. All other participants are asked to contact a hotel directly. When booking your room, please state that you are a guest of the university and participant of the workshop organized by the Institut für Algebra and Zahlentheorie (IAZ). Here are some options:
  • Römerhof (Robert-Leicht-Straße 93, 70563 Stuttgart-Vaihingen, +49 711 / 687880): In 15 minutes walking distance from the institute, there is also a bus connection.
    There are smaller rooms for € 74.80 per night and larger rooms for € 81.80.
  • Relexa Waldhotel Schatten (Magstadter Straße 2-4, 70569 Stuttgart, +49 / 71168670): This hotel is located in Büsnau, 30 minutes walking distance from the institute. Alternatively, there is also a bus connection.
    There is a pre-reservation for rooms until August 24, 2012. If you intend to reserve a room here by eMail or phone, please indicate the codeword "IAZ" in your reservation to get the reduced rate of € 79 for a single economy room or € 99 for a superior room per night.
  • International Student Hotel (Neckarstraße 172, 70190 Stuttgart, +49 711 / 414300): Located in the city centre, in 15 minutes walking distance from the main train station; 25 minutes with U-Bahn and S-Bahn from our institute.
    There are ensuite double rooms for € 63 per night and room, ensuite single rooms for € 49 per night including breakfast. Rates for students are € 10 lower. The rooms should be reserved until June 15, 2012.
  • Kulinarium an der Glems (Mahdentalstraße 111, 70569 Stuttgart, +49 711 /681618 ): Single rooms for € 68 can be reserved until July 23, 2012. There is a bus connection to the university, it takes approximately 15 minutes.
  • Hotel Drive-in (Glockenblumenstraße 1, 70563 Stuttgart, +49 711 / 38910455): Single rooms for € 71 can be reserved until August 24, 2012. The university is a 30 minutes walk away, it can also be reached in 15 minutes by S-Bahn.
  • IB-Hotel am Wallgraben (Wallgraben 119, 70565 Stuttgart, +49 711 / 7876100): Single rooms for € 65 (breakfast costs additionally € 10) can be reserved until August 27, 2012. The university can be reached in 15 minutes by S-Bahn.
  • Pullman Stuttgart Fontana ( Vollmoellerstraße 5, 70563 Stuttgart, +49 711 / 7302300): Single rooms for € 119 (breakfast costs additionally € 20) can be reserved until June 22, 2012. The university can be reached in 10 minutes by S-Bahn, or by a 30 minute walk.
  • Arcona Mo Hotel ( Hauptstraße 26, 70563 Stuttgart, +49 711 / 28056100): Single rooms for € 129 including breakfast, can be reserved until August 27, 2012. The university can be reached in 10 minutes by S-Bahn, or by a 30 minute walk.
